NJEA members seeking PD opportunities, should log onto www.njea.org and view the NJEA PD Institute Showcase. Workshops that appear in the Showcase have been endorsed by the NJEA Professional Development Institute. The "seal of approval" indicates this provider has met the Institute’s strict guidelines for professional development activities.
The NJEA Technology Integration Institute will also provide members with PD opportunities. The first Institute will be held on April 28, 2012 at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey in Pomona. The second Institute will be held on May 12, 2012 at Kean University in Union. Four hours of professional development credit can be earned each day. The registration fee is $30.00 each day. Online registration is preferred.
The PD workshop “Cyber-Bullying: Awareness” will be presented at the EOEA office on Wednesday, April 18, 2012. This workshop will share information about what our students are doing online and strategies to help them understand some of the potential dangers they face.
The Essex County Education Association (ECEA) will present the following advocacy dinner/ workshops:
“Health & Safety-Stress Reduction”
“Diversity Issues and Advocacy”
Participants do not receive PD credits for advocacy workshops. If you would like to attend the ECEA workshops, please submit a check for $35.00 to the EOEA office. All checks should be made payable to EOEA. The checks will be returned once your attendance at the workshop has been verified.
The next EOEA Instruction & Training Committee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 3:45 p.m.
NJEA’s E-Learning Academy provides the opportunity for NJEA members to earn professional development credits online anytime, and at your own pace. With its unique features, the E-Learning Academy is an experience that leads to mastery of new skills and knowledge.
The following courses are currently available on E-Learning:
All courses are online, self-paced and video based. The sessions are resumable - pause and play at your convenience. Printable PD certificates are provided upon completion of the course. This benefit is FREE for all NJEA members!
The next EOEA Instruction & Training Committee meeting is scheduled for January 18, 2012 prior to the workshop “Principles of Professional Learning: Part 3: Team Building.”
